Jason Sheppard encourages people to take advantage of the event by heading out to one of the local lakes, rivers or streams to cast a line. During Free Fishing Weekend, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources waives all fishing license fees for two days, but fishing regulations still apply.“Free Fishing Weekend is a perfect opportunity for residents to explore the family-friendly fishing options Monroe County has to offer,” said Rep Sheppard, R-Temperance. “Fishing is a fun family pastime.
